Project Description: Choose from a list of articles and create an original piece based on the article. Inspiration can come from the visuals already attached to the article of from words, phases and concepts in the article. After the piece is complete, research an artist or art movement closely rated to your original piece (as chosen by the professor).

Universal Lama, gouache on bristol, 17 in x 14 in. The article I chose was "The Last Dalai Lama?" and I was inspired to create a political poster in a similar style to propaganda posters seens during the Cultural Revolution period of communist China. Instead of a politically charged message, I used the Tibeten symbol for Om, the universal tone that signifies peace and oneness with the universe.
